I am delighted to share with you that today we are announcing the acquisition of Graig Ship Management, part of Graig Shipping Plc.
Graig Ship Management has developed a strong brand and reputation in Asia and Europe for high quality new build supervision and ship management of dry bulk vessels, which will enhance our existing capability and put us in a strong position to grow.
The team, 13 people based in Cardiff and eight in Shanghai will be joining us and operating as an independent brand. The Shanghai office will be managed by Captain Chu Li Ping and the Cardiff office by Paul Stephens. Both will report to Alastair Evitt within our Ship Management East business unit. Graig Ship Management currently has 17 vessels under full technical management servicing eight customers, which includes two Graig Shipping Plc vessels.

Graig Ship Management is no stranger to our business; they’ve been using our vessel management system, ShipSure to manage their fleets for nine years. The business has grown steadily over the past 25 years despite market challenges and this is testament to the team’s ability to offer competitive, high quality solutions to its clients. By joining the V.Group family, the team will be able to build on this further by taking advantage of the scale and investment we can offer.
There will be an opportunity for you to get to know your new colleagues over the coming weeks and months as we start the integration process. We are informing our customers today and will also be issuing a press release later. In the interim, in case you receive any queries from your customer/supplier contacts, please refer to the attached FAQ pack.
